Scaled Skins

This project by su11 investigates skin-structure composites, which are non-linear in their hierarchical relationships. The resulting models can be controlled on different scales of which each can feed back design information to the overall (networked) model. One inspiration for this project was found in the seamless structure/surface/cell integrity of reptilian skins. The aim is to develop structural skins, which can be applied to a variety of design problems on a range of different scales. The models are tested towards their flexibility and expression of refinement.
